Ockham “thoughtfully” said: “You should not attract new entities unless absolutely necessary.” In fact, there is nothing clever in this saying. The wisdom of the first half of the dictum “You should not attract new entities …” is immediately destroyed by the second half “… unless absolutely necessary” …
If we apply Occam’s “wisdom” to criminal legislation, it will turn out, for example: “You should not steal, rape, rob unless absolutely necessary, and if the body requires it, we will arrange for a few years to modestly live at the expense of those who do not rape and do not rob, however, if there is a certificate from a psychiatrist, then you will remain free … “.
As if scientists, the concept of necessity is not very different from the concepts of lovers of life at the expense of a law-abiding population. After all, scientists, as it were, have a need to receive large sums of money without any useful work, and this is precisely what diplomas, dissertations, and printed works are needed. In addition, scientists would like to receive honors, titles, to be known, to their own kind, and even better to all people … These obvious necessities make them invent fascinating theories, which by no means can be obtained without the corresponding invention of many different fantastic entities.
There is no way to list all the fantastic entities, as it were, of scientists, but those that not only became widespread among scientists, but were also introduced by scavengers from science, popularizers of this very science and journalists among the people, can be listed.
Ether, physical vacuum, virtual particles of physical vacuum, electromagnetic field, waves in the ether, wave structure of matter particles, quantum mechanics, quantum gravity, quantum foam, gravitational strings and branes.
Special theory of relativity, General theory of relativity, space-time continuum, gravitational waves, singularity that caused the big bang, black holes, white holes, wormholes, Hawking radiation, accelerated expansion of the universe, dark matter, dark energy.
Quarks, gluons, neutrinos, Higgs boson, graviton and dozens of fantastic particles of supposedly matter.
Against the background of invented entities, real objects of the world look modest: electrons, protons, photons, atoms, molecules, living and inanimate matter consisting of atoms, stars, planets.
